With a passion that has spanned over 15 years, Gemma's journey in the art of sewing has taken her from the captivating world of theatre and film to becoming an inspiring educator in the realm of fashion and textiles.

Gemma's love affair with sewing began in the bustling theatre industry, where she honed her skills in creating exquisite costumes for shows like Les Misérables, Wicked, Cabaret, Hairspray, Cirque Du Soleil and School of Rock among others.

Her experience in the performing arts (including costumes for the films Paddington and Philomena and for the Little Mix UX Tour) instilled in her a keen understanding of the importance of garments that not only looked stunning but also made the wearer feel confident and extraordinary.

As the founder of Sewin' Love, Gemma brings her wealth of knowledge and expertise to the world of teaching. She is a highly respected Fashion and Textiles Lecturer at Canterbury College, where she shares her passion for sewing with young adults eager to learn the art. Her patient and nurturing approach encourages her students to explore their creativity and develop their sewing skills. In addition to her work with young adults, Gemma extends her expertise to adult evening classes, where she continues to foster a love for sewing among individuals seeking to refine their craft.

Gemma's dedication to education goes beyond the classroom. She has also extended her mentoring to volunteer programs and prestigious projects like the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies and for the LAMDA and Central School of Acting.
